Reiki for Cows
i am a dairy farmer is northern Vermont. We
milk 400 Jerseys 3x and have about 700 head in all. I am a Reiki ii and
have been doing Reiki on the cows for the past 2 years. As you can
imagine, the results are amazing. We have a healthy herd to begin with,
but the Reiki puts the frosting on the cake and makes the daily grind
very exciting. Actually, I started just using Reiki, but now have added
Angelic energy and other healing to form my own pot luck bovine method
of healing. My children (8 & 11) are also very interested in healing and
assist me when I am treating cows.
Jerseys pop out calves without much
difficulty...maybe 1 in 20 needs assistance. I have Reikied cows
in labor, but because I don't expect to have problems, things turn out
OK most of the time. I started using Reiki on the calves. I raise all of
the young stock. Raising Jersey calves is a challenge during a Vermont
winter...they are tiny, average birth weight is 50 lbs, but many are
smaller... some are larger, and when it is below zero out, it is
tough to get them up and going and thriving. When they do get sick, they
have less reserves to work with, so immediate intervention is critical.
When I started using Reiki on the calves and saw results that had never
happened before I was doubtful, but when calves survived that pre Reiki
never would have, I gained more confidence and kept using it more.
The first cow I treated was ready to
check out. She had mastitis. We have about a dozen cases of
mastitis a year on 400 cows...very low incidence...we bed with sand and
are sticklers for cow comfort. We culture all mastitis cases, and 99%
are Klebsiella, which always kills them within 48 hours.
This cow was a classic, hard quarter, high
temp, off feed, wouldn't get up, etc. I told the guys that I would
Reiki her, but that I was healing not curing, and that if nothing
happened, they should not think that what I did had no impact...and I
told them that they could not joke about it or pick on me for what I was
doing.
As soon as I put my hands on her udder they
were tingling, and within minutes she perked right up. i set an intent
of removing the toxins that were being created by the bacteria from her
body and boosting her immune system to fight off the infection. After
about 20 minutes she got up and started eating. I also asked God
and the Angels for a miracle to show us that cows could respond
positively to Reiki. I continued to Reiki her for about 20 minutes at a time 3 times
a day for the next 2 days. She had already lost body condition and
dropped in milk when I started working on her, so she didn't bounce back
completely...but she is alive and well now. When her culture results
came back Klebsiella positive.
The next cow I worked on I got to as soon as
we spotted her hard quarter....she never missed a beat...and was also Klebsiella positive. Since then
I have treated cows that have lived, but not thrived (healing versus
curing). I have also treated cows that have died. i healed one cow that
became a "happy sick cow" and eventually died...we should have shipped
her for beef, but she looked so happy and responded so well to the Reiki
that we didn't have the heart to ship her. Now I'm asked to Reiki every cow that
is a bit "off"....
i have so much to learn, but
really feel called to bring this kind of healing to the traditional
world of bovine vet medicine. I am fortunate to have one very close vet
friend who is diagnostician and extremely interested in what I am doing
with Reiki and ready for a change in her life, so I foresee something
exciting happening, but not sure what right now. I don't rush things, I just follow my
intuition and wait for the right doors to open, and
they always do.
I spend a lot of time
in the barn, so I am
constantly trying to remove negative energy and infuse the barn with
positive energy, white light and healing energy. I am slowly explaining
Reiki to all of our employees. Some are skeptical, but they respect what
I do and I let them come to their own conclusions. I have had the
opportunity to Reiki some of them when they get hurt, and that is
usually the turning point for them. As you know, when you spend hours a
day doing healing work it sure does make you feel terrific!!
i have also said "no" to doing Reiki on days
that I am too tired or so busy that I cannot focus on healing because I
am worried about all that I have to get done.
Do you know of any bovine vets that use
Reiki in their practice? I would really like to talk with vets that are
doing Reiki on cows on a regular basis. I have 2 close vet friends who
are very interested in learning more about using Reiki, and will be
taking Reiki I this winter as a result of what they have seen happen on
our farm! I am also going to work with them to learn more about anatomy
and physiology, since I have had one very powerful intuitive diagnostic
experience and know that more are in my future. I have a background in
forest entomology and pathology, so classify myself as a scientist who
couldn't ignore the unexplained miracles that seemed to be happening
when I started doing energy work.
